Originally known as the Dubai World Trade Centre upon its completion in 1979, it marked Dubai’s first major tower and business centre. Designed by the renowned John R. Harris and Partners (JRHP), the tower was inaugurated by none other than Queen Elizabeth II on February 26, 1979.
